MODULE 3 : The "Peat Bog Soldiers" ("Moorsoldaten")

This module focuses on life and work in concentration camps under National Socialism. Participants learn about the conditions of forced labour and the everyday life of forced labourers. An important aspect is the cultural life and art in the camps; in particular the “Moorsoldaten-Lied” (“Song of the Peat Bog Soldiers”), which was written by prisoners in the Emsland camps, and its continuing significance today.
