Module I : Esterwegen (Germany) and Liepaja (Latvia):

Localization: Esterwegen (Germany) and Liepaja (Latvia) in Europe

In this module, participants will learn about the geographical location of Esterwegen in Germany and Liepāja in Latvia. They will learn to understand the differences between concentration camps and prison camps and familiarize themselves with the Emsland camps and their special features.
They will also learn about the logistics of deportations during the Nazi era. Participants will also learn how to use various databases to find information about former inmates and exemplify their lives, which they will then contrast with their own lives.
