MODULE 2 : German vs. Latvian culture of remembrance

This module sheds light on the cultures of remembrance in Germany and Latvia. Participants learn about the German culture of remembrance as well as the Latvian culture of remembrance and a lack thereof in Latvia. By comparing the two cultures, the significance and importance of remembering history in both countries is presented and discussed. The memorials in Esterwegen and Liepāja and their recent history are also in focus.
