VHS Meppen: The adult education center in Meppen (abbreviated VHS), founded in 1988, is a non-profit limited liability company in the district of Emsland, Germany, and is one of the largest educational institutions in the Meppen area with 6 locations (Meppen, Haren, Haselünne, Herzlake, Geeste, Twist). It is recognized as an educational institution under the Lower Saxony Adult Education Act. The staff consists of 480 permanent employees and approx. 450 freelance teachers.

The VHS is responsible for more than 100,000 inhabitants. With more than 75,000 teaching hours and over 17,000 participants in the fields of society & environment, culture & creativity, fitness & health, education & psychology, language & integration, school-leaving qualifications, computers & media, environmental education and vocational training, VHS Meppen offers individual events, seminars, courses and advice for all age and population groups. Funding is provided by the low event fees, grants from the local authority and the state and, for the most part, project funding.

RTU Liepāja: RTU (Riga Technical University) is a symbol of education, science and culture that educates around 15,000 students every year. It is the only polytechnic university in Latvia that offers study programs at all three levels of study: Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral studies. At the Liepāja site in the Kurzeme region, the focus is on engineering as well as social sciences and humanities. The Department of Lifelong Learning, which has existed since 1994, prioritizes non-formal education programs in the fields of study that are carried out for people who have already completed secondary education.

The courses offered by the Lifelong Learning Department of RTU Liepāja are aimed at adults aged 18 and over. The project idea is related to the vocational training programs coordinated by the Ministry of Education and Culture for the acquisition of in-depth pedagogical qualifications of professionals with a focus on “Content and didactics of social studies” and “Fundamentals of pedagogical action”. Every year, the department qualifies around 600 learners.
